About Secontroversial Plumbing

Homeowner showing a local plumbing provider a leaking pipe under a kitchen sink in Orlando

What we are

Secontroversial Plumbing is a referral service. We help homeowners with a plumbing problem reach independent local providers. That is all we do. We do not own trucks. We do not do the work.

Why this site exists

Plumbing trouble feels rushed. People pick the first name they see. Then the bill surprises them. So we put the facts up front. Know what drives the cost. Get a written quote. Ask the right questions. Then choose.

Answer first. Details after.

How matching works

You call or send a request. You say what is wrong and where you are in Orlando or the Orlando area. We pass the request to a provider in our network who handles that kind of job.

Many providers can respond quickly. But hours vary. Plenty of people search for a 24 hour plumber, and some providers do take late calls. Others do not. Request a callback to check provider availability before you count on it.

What we expect from providers

Providers in our network are independent businesses. We ask them to:

  • Explain the problem in plain words.
  • Give a written quote before starting.
  • Say up front if after-hours work costs extra.
  • Hold the licenses and insurance your state requires.
  • Treat your home with respect.

You should still check. Ask to see proof of license and insurance. A good provider says yes without fuss.

What we do not do

We do not repair pipes, clear drains or dig up sewer lines. We do not set prices. We do not write your quote. We do not decide what your insurance covers. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim.

The contract is between you and the provider. Read it before you sign.

How we are paid

We may receive a fee from providers when they get a referred job. The price you pay for the work is set by the provider. Ask for the full cost in writing, including trip fees, parts and cleanup.

Prices in plain terms

Costs vary by job. In the U.S., a drain clearing often runs $120 to $350. A repair visit for a leak may run $150 to $600. Sewer line work can run from a few thousand dollars to much more. Slab homes, deep lines and storm damage can raise the total. A written quote shows you what you are paying for.
